Body found near I-580 exit in Oakland

OAKLAND – Emergency responders Saturday found a body near a highway homeless encampment.

Oakland police alerted California High Patrol around 3 p.m. about a group of people living near the I-580 East off ramp at 35th Ave., according to CHP. Emergency personnel responded and found the body of a person that appeared to have been deceased for about a week.

The body was found near a large homeless encampment, CHP said. No other details were immediately available.
