Good news for the Penguins today as they should be getting back their star defenseman

The Penguins got some good news when Kris Letang was a full practice participant today, in his familiar spot with Brian Dumoulin and on the top power play group as well.

Letang has been out since November 4th, leaving the Penguins without their best defenseman for the last three weeks with an undisclosed lower body injury.

In Letang’s absence the team has relied heavily on rookie John Marino, especially after Justin Schultz has left the lineup as well with another lower body injury in practice in Thursday. Schultz’s injury was described by coach Mike Sullivan as “longer term” which could be a lengthy absence.

But for now, the team will be bolstered by Letang’s return, which will be a welcomed one being as he routinely leads the in ice time.

Sullivan, typical in return from injury, would only officially commit to a “game time decision” for Letang, but going through the practice and working with the power play is a great sign for a change from the injury front for once.
