Netflix announces new original series Locke & Key about bereaved family terrorised by demon
NETFLIX have announced a terrifying new TV series that will follow a bereaved family who awaken a mysterious demon when they return to their ancestral home.
Locke And Key is based on the best-selling comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, and will star IT and IT 2 star Jackson Robert Scott, Scandal’s Darby Stanchfield, American Crime Story actor Connor Jessup and Emilia Clarke, from Horrible Histories.
The online streaming service has called the series “a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family”.
The series has been created by the minds behind Lost and The Haunting Of Hill House, so viewers can expect a mix of intense drama and scares.
The official synopsis reads: “After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death.
“As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them.”

Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, the director and producers of the IT adaptations, are also working on the series.
Locke and Key will drop on Netflix on February 7 but the streaming service is making sure we end 2019 with a plethora of viewing choices as it once again drops a huge amount of new content on the streaming platform.
Netflix Originals including You: Season 2 and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby will hit the streaming service this December.
Other big titles include The Witcher, 6 Underground and Marriage Story, a movie starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver.
