Conservatives maintain 10-point lead over Labour in latest poll
The Conservatives have maintained their double digit lead over the Labour party, as the election enters the final week.
The latest poll of polls by PA media, puts the Tory party 10 points ahead of Labour, based on an average survey of polls over the last seven days.
The Conservatives are on 43 per cent, with Labour at 33 per cent.
The Liberal Democrats are on 13 per cent, with the Green and Brexit parties both on 3 per cent.
It comes as Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he would give up Chequers, the Prime Minister’s country residence, so it could be put to use to help homeless people, if he becomes prime minister.
He made the comments in an ITV interview, due to be aired on Thursday.
The Labour leader also appeared to suggest in the interview that he does not watch the Queen’s speech.
When asked by Julie Etchingham if he tunes in to watch the Queen’s speech, he replied: ‘It’s on in the morning, usually we have it on… some of the time.’
After it was pointed out that it starts at 3pm, Julie said: ‘You don’t watch it do you Mr Corbyn’.
Meanwhile, Boris Johnson is hosting NATO leaders during the alliance’s 70th anniversary in London.
The summit has been overshadowed by rows, after video footage emerged showing Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau mocking President Trump during a conversation with Boris Johnson and French leader Emmanuel Macron.
Mr Johnson has sought to contain the fallout and present a united front among NATO leaders.
