Amit makes strong comeback, defeats Centeno to win gold

Rubilen Amit got back at compatriot Chezka Centeno, 7-3, to win the women’s singles nine-ball pool competition of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) on Sunday night at the Manila Hotel Tent.

Veteran cue artist Amit denied Centeno a third gold in the nine-ball pool as she avenged her 3-7 defeat to the younger athlete in the 10-ball finale last night.

Centeno and Amit earlier advanced to the semifinals of the doubles after beating their Thai foes, 7-6. JEREMIAH M. SEVILLA
