Alabama police officer killed was son of cop killed 40 years earlier

Huntsville, Ala., police identified Billy Clardy III as the officer who was killed on duty Friday afternoon in a drug bust gone wrong, AL.com reported.

Clardy’s father, Billy Clardy Jr., was also a Huntsville police officer who died while on duty in 1978.
