Speaking to Complex about his transition from cult SoundCloud figure to mainstream artist, he said: “That was crazy. I don’t know. To this day, it hasn’t settled in yet. That’s how I want it to be, though. I don’t want to get lost in everything.
“I just want to keep the same work ethic. There’s still things to be done and points to be proven. Money to be made, you know? I want to keep that same mentality because when artists stop and think about everything and realize, like, ‘I just got a multi-million dollar contract,’ I think that’s when I think they get, quote unquote, lost in the sauce.”
Industry figures and fans were shocked when the star, whose real name is Jarad A Higgins, died from a seizure at Chicago’s Midway Airport this morning.

Rap king Drake shared a picture of Higgins and wrote: “I would like to see all the younger talent live longer and I hate waking up hearing another story filled with blessings was cut short .”
While Chance The Rapper shared: “He knows our hearts. I really wish we had more talks like that one night in LA. Dude.
“This is ridiculous. Millions of people, not just in Chicago but around the world are hurting because of this and don’t know what to make of it. Im sorry. Love you and God bless your soul. #legend.”
He was bleeding from the mouth when medics arrived, according to TMZ.
The entertainment news site reported he was still conscious when he was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead.
The singer is understood to have been walking through the airport after landing from California when he fell ill.
A cause of death is not yet known.
