Ministry of human resource development revealed in Lok Sabha that as many as 7,248 students dropped out of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), over last five years. The staggering dropout statistic was presented in context of IITs and IIITs getting approval to provide 'exit option' to students which allows them to switch from BTech to BSc after second semester.
