Mamata Banerjee on Monday led the first of her three-day showdowns against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act, daring the Modi government to “dislodge my govt or send me to jail” from a massive rally in central Kolkata. She also conveyed her dismay over Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar’s “frequent tweets and press briefings” and sought his “cooperation” to maintain peace.
