[Men's Basketball] Pack Named KCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
WICHITA, Kan. – After leading the Friends University Falcons to a pair of victories over ranked opponents, junior guard Davonte Pack has been selected as the KCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today (Dec. 16).
Pack averaged 23 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals per night.
A native of Sumter, SC, Pack scored 24 points and recorded five boards and three steals in a 72-71 victory at (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan University before dropping team-highs of 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead a 77-76 win over No. 20-ranked Bethel College.
"Davonte was our leader in scoring and rebounding both games against tough opponents," Friends head coach Dale Faber said. "His game is growing and he was definitely instrumental in our success last week."
Pack is now second in scoring (13.3 ppg) for the Falcons this season and has a team-best 5.0 rebounds.
An incredibly efficient scorer, Pack is shooting 54.2 percent (58-of-107) from the field while hitting 44.2 percent (12-of-27) of his three-point attempts.
Following a break for the Christmas holiday, Pack and the Falcons will play an exhibition game at NCAA D-II Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Dec. 31 at 3 pm in Durant, Okla.
The Falcons will resume KCAC action on Jan. 4 at 7 pm at York College in York, Neb.
