Records set at NJMP’s Northeast Karting Showdown season opener
Picture perfect weather conditions and drivers ready to kick off another season of racing combined for a record-setting opening round of the Northeast Karting Showdown at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
More than 50 registered entries strong, the Saturday event delivered close racing over eight classes under sunny skies and mild temperatures – a contrast from the brutal, snowy winter that kept drivers off the track and in their respective shops.
“We’re very pleased with the turnout, the competition, and the overall debut of the Northeast Karting Showdown for the 2014 season,” said Steven Hahn, Director of Go-Karting. “It’s been a long winter, and everyone’s been looking forward to this opening day.”
Class winners included Charles Volpe (Kid Kart), Justin White (Micro Max), Nicholas Galdi (Mini Max), Georgo Stojakovic (Jr. Max), Billy Ogle (Sr. Max), Dan Nyman (Jr. Tag), Billy Ogle (Sr. Tag), and Joe Lattanzi (Tag Masters).
The Northeast Karting Showdown is a fun, unique, and competitive series that is held at Go-Karting at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Consisting of seven scheduled events, the Northeast Karting Showdown offers racing opportunities for virtually any motor and chassis combination, including but not limited to, Rotax and TAG engines.
The Northeast Karting Showdown resumes on with Round 2 on Saturday, May 10th on the Tempest course at Go-Karting. An official club practice is scheduled for Friday, May 9th.
