GET ready for an absolute cracker at Kempton on Boxing Day as six go to post for this year’s King George Chase.

We’ve got the likes of last year’s winner Clan Des Obeaux going up against rising stars Cyrname and Lostintranslation. Find out who our top tipsters are tipping right here…

Templegate

CYRNAME can win what’s shaping up to be an epic King George. We have all the ingredients for a cracker with last year’s winner Clan Des Obeaux returning with every chance, rising star Lostintranslation throwing down a challenge and the likes of Footpad and Thistlecrack trying to get their careers back on track.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has won this great race 10 times and has been raving about Cyrname. He was already the highest-rated chaser in training and if he wins this he’ll have to take up darts as he’ll be around 180.

His victory against Altior at Ascot last time was breathtaking as he jumped for fun and galloped that great champion into the ground. He won a couple of big races at Kempton as a novice so loves the track.

Matt Chapman

I believe CLAN DES OBEAUX is an awesome each-way bet for the champion trainer Paul Nicholls. I just can’t have the defending champion out of the first three and fully expect him to take all the beating. Especially now with Sun Racing ambassador Sam Twiston-Davies on board!

Chris Hughes

LOSTINTRANSLATION will go unbeaten this year and win the Gold Cup come March. A legend of a horse which you can’t say will be outpaced, as he has shown speed over 2m5 against Defi De Seuil. The best jumper in the race, it’s made for him.

Jack Keene

CYRNAME can take the step up to three-miles in his stride. Paul Nicholls’ seven-year-old proved his wide-margin Grade 1 win in February wasn’t a fluke when beating Altior on his reappearance.

He jumps like a buck and is unbeaten in two starts at Kempton, while he could get a soft lead under Harry Cobden.

Callum Jamieson

CYRNAME is not an original pick but very much the one to beat. He has grown into a superstar and the King George test should suit down to the ground.

He may even get an easy lead and Harry Cobden is as good as it gets out front. Old boy Thistlecrack is a huge price and will have a few of my pennies too.

Thomas Bull

LOSTINTRANSLATION can get past the Kempton language barrier and seize the King George for Colin Tizzard.
He became the only horse ever to get the better of Bristol De Mai in the Betfair Chase and I reckon this test will suit him even better.
He stays, jumps and has that little bit of speed. He’s the real deal.

Betting Spy

CLAN DES OBEAUX won this last season, proving ideally suited to the flat-track, fast-run jumping test this three-miler always provides.

And he was travelling as well as any going to two out in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March before the extra distance found him out.

He reappeared at Down Royal last month, running really well to chase home Road To Respect. That Grade 1 event is his big target of the season. This is Clan Des Obeaux’s.
