Three more infants died at Kota's JK Lon Hospital, taking the death toll to 110 in the past 36 days. After the infant deaths came to light in the last week of December, the hospital hurriedly removed its medical superintendent, Dr HL Meena, from his post. The infant deaths brought to light that at least 50% of the life-saving equipment at the hospital was lying defunct.
