JIM Davidson will be questioned by police over claims he told a black train attendant: “You aren’t welcome in this country.”

At the time, the comedian, 66, confirmed the row had taken place, but insisted the Virgin worker was white South African.

Author Paul Blanchard saw what happened and made a complaint.

Mr Blanchard, 45, said: “I’ve been asked to provide further statements and the police officer handling the case said they’re pulling Jim in to speak this week.

“It’s been three months but I’m glad they are doing something.”

Mr Davidson insisted he did not use racist language during the row at Euston station, North London, last October.

The telly comic, who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, said: “I wasn’t racist and the man was white.

“I’ve spoken to the police and told them what happened.

“I didn’t know they wanted to speak to me again. It is a joke. I was not racist.”

The row happened after Mr Davidson claimed the attendant tried to stop him boarding a train because he could not find his older person’s rail pass.

A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing.”
