EastEnders cancelled in major BBC schedule shake-up for FA Cup

EASTENDERS fans hoping to see their regular Monday episode of the show will be disappointed tonight as it’s been cancelled.

Anyone tuning into BBC One at 8pm won’t see Gray’s latest antics, as the channel is instead showing the FA Cup Fourth Round.

In all the excitement of EastEnders recently, we’d almost forgotten it’s not on tonight as usual.

As we all know, EastEnders normally airs at 8pm on a Monday, but tonight’s slot (January 6) will be taken up by football coverage instead.

BBC One will broadcast the FA Cup fourth round fixture between Arsenal and Leeds instead of the latest episode of EastEnders.

But fans shouldn’t be too annoyed about it as we’ll still get our fair share of Walford drama this week.

To make up for the schedule shake-up, there’ll be two hour-long episodes this Friday (January 10) at 8pm and 9pm.

Gray wants Chantelle to have another baby in EastEnders[/caption]

The BBC One soap will be back on screens tomorrow (January 7) for it’s usual slot at 7.30pm, and viewers will watch on as the domestic abuse storyline between Chantelle and Gray continues to spiral.

The long-suffering wife will face more abuse at the hands of monster Gray as he tries to force her to get pregnant again.

It will be clear she’s in pain as he grabs her wrist, leaving Chantelle certain she needs to go to the hospital.

Unfortunately, she’s quick to reassure Gray and blame herself for the incident.

Fans of the show have watched Chantelle bear the brunt of Gray’s abuse for months.

EastEnders boss Kate Oates revealed that Gray’s controlling behaviour is set to get even worse in the upcoming months.

She said “We’ve got great stuff for Chantelle and Gray. That storyline will be continuing EastEnders’ tradition of stories which explore really important issues. We’re going to be pushing that story.”

She added: “We’ve been building it quite gently very deliberately and building the sort of public — by which I mean the Square — the public perception of the kind of man Gray is and the kind of marriage that they have, so we’ll be exploring that.”
