The mess of the ownership at Blues is sympotmatic of the lack of regulation by the FA and EFL who have abandoned any pretence of a football club as being part of a local community, but are happy to see them treated as a commodity to be bought and sold to people who should see their role as a custodian.

Golden handshakes don't tend to help matters either. Managers leaving football clubs alluding to the fact that working practices were far from supportive but not being able to state how or why specifically due to the terms of their exit agreement.

The only fan-based scrutiny that the EFL seem to insist upon is a quarterly forum where representatives from the club are allowed to pre-read the questions and take out what they don't want to answer. It's a pointless exercise.
