The Bachelor: Charlize Theron rooting for Peter | Screen Rant
Charlize Theron, the Oscar winning actress and admitted fan of The Bachelor, is officially rooting for everything to work out in Peter Weber's love life. She has been vocal about her admiration of the 28-year-old pilot, so it makes sense that even though she craves drama, she also wants Weber to have a happy ending.
Theron became the latest celebrity to enter into The Bachelor conversation when she shared a photo on Instagram of her posing in front of a billboard with Peter Weber. She captioned her photo, "Turbulence I like." At first, Weber commented on the post, writing, "Buckle Up, Charlize." He then posted his own picture to his Instagram, with the message, "Turbulence can be fun." It was a back-and-forth that drew the attention of Bachelor Nation, setting up potential theories about Weber's relationship status following the filming of his season. He has not yet confirmed if he proposes at the end, although it is rare these days for the lead of the show to admit to being engaged before the show premieres. He did confide to USA Today that the way the season ends is "unique," leaving open a wide range of possibilities as to what could potentially unfold.
On the red carpet of the Golden Globes on Sunday, Theron expressed her excitement about Weber's season to Access Hollywood. She, like most, wants Weber to eventually reach his destination, but would prefer if the flight path was a little shaky. Theron said, “I hope he finds the woman of his dreams, but do not let me down: I need some drama, I need some tears - I heard there was an injury, I’m already excited.” Of course, what would a season of The Bachelor be without tears, especially from its leading man. Judging by the preview, the new season promises to deliver on all of this, from the pain of heartbreak to actual, physical pain.
Asked what her opening line to Pilot Pete would be as she got out of the limo, Theron told Access Hollywood, “Your exits are right in front of you and to the side, but you shall not need them." At the very least, it likely would have produced a chuckle from Weber, and plenty of eye rolls from those watching at home. Theron, 44, is experienced in the world of film and she said of The Bachelor, "I know a good show when I see one."
Even though The Bachelor has been on almost as long as some of its contestants have been alive, it's still up for debate whether it's a "good" show. What's not up for debate is that it's just as much a phenomenon as ever. As of Monday morning, #TheBachelor was already trending on Twitter. Theron is clearly not the only one pumped up for the premiere of season 24.
The Bachelor premieres on Monday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
