Marine accused of killing his fiancee’s two-year-old on New Year’s Day
A MARINE has been accused of killing his fiancee’s two-year-old daughter on New Year’s Day.
Ricardo Montesinos, 24, was arrested after police responded to a medical call to a home in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Officers tried to save the child, but were unsuccessful.
Montesinos was charged with the murder of Annaley Ratliff.
Police have not said how the child died or what her condition was when they were called to the home.
First Lt. Dan Linfante told the local news: “If substantiated, such conduct is inconsistent with the exceedingly high standards of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service, and would not represent the honorable behavior of the vast majority of the Division’s 17,000-plus Marines and Sailors.”
He said Montesinos enlisted in January 2017 and is a hospital corpsman.
