Utah mom’s horrifying Internet searches before daughter’s murder revealed by police
A MOTHER allegedly stabbed her daughter to death on New Year’s Eve — and now cops claim she spent a month browsing the internet for ways to complete the crime.
Nicole Lester, 29, is accused of murdering Laney Vos, her 4-year-old child, and had allegedly confessed to her neighbor about what she’d done.
Then, Lester turned herself in to the police.
When cops arrived at her house in West Valley City, Utah, around 5am, Lester was sitting outside her house in bloody clothes, officers said of the scene.
Lester’s daughter was discovered in the basement — with many “sharp-edged type wounds” on her body.
But before the crime unfolded on December 31, Lester had allegedly been searching for different ways to kill people, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
Police say that on December 31, Lester went to her neighbor’s house to borrow a phone and when she returned it, she confessed to killing her daughter.
“How do you break a neck?” Lester searched in Google, according to police.
“Where is the best place to hit a person with an axe?” was another question the mother allegedly searched.
Toward the end of her search history, investigators apparently found specific questions about children — including “medical diagram of a child’s chest and ribs.”
Lester allegedly researched child murders that happened in states other than Utah, and questioned if it was easier to kill a toddler or an adult.
Police say that on December 31, Lester went to her neighbor’s house to borrow a phone and when she returned it, she confessed to killing her daughter.
While Lester allegedly killed her daughter, she didn’t harm her 6-year-old son — who police found was peacefully sleeping inside the house when they arrived.
Lester’s two children and mother lived in the home with her, located around 10 miles southwest of Salt Lake City.

The 29-year-old mother is said to not have a history of violence or a criminal record.
Lester was initially held without bail on suspicion on aggravated murder.
But on Wednesday, she was formally charged with one felony count of aggravated murder — a charge for which she could face the death penalty.
