Piers Morgan caught buying meat-free products in supermarket by amazed shoppers… but all is not as it seems
SHOPPERS were amazed when they appeared to spot outspoken carnivore Piers Morgan buying MEAT-FREE products in the supermarket.
Bystanders had to do a double take when the anti-vegan telly host appeared to be browsing products in a plant-based cabinet.
Piers – who has claimed that meat-eaters are better LOVERS than vegans – even ended up filling a basket with meat-free sausages and burgers from the ‘Naked Glory’ range.
However, all was not as it seemed – as ‘Piers’ turned out to be a lookalike posing for pictures taken by artist Alison Jackson.
Alison Lees, marketing manager for Naked Glory, said: “Our Naked Glory products are quite simply the meatiest things since meat.
“The range was created by meat lovers, for meat lovers – they look like meat, cook like meat, and taste like meat.
“You simply won’t be able to resist cheating on meat this Veganuary – even if you’re Piers Morgan.”
This week we told how Piers clashed with fellow GMB host Susanna Reid over Greggs’ vegan steak bakes.
A year on from ripping into the bakery chain’s vegan sausage roll, Piers unleashed his wrath on its latest meat-free product.
Waving the pastry product in front of the camera, he blasted Greggs for using ‘meat language’ to promote it – calling it “rank hypocrisy”.

Giving his view on why vegan products are proving so popular, he said: “The nation’s become a nation of lemmings.”
However, Susanna insisted the bake isn’t as unhealthy as Piers made out, with its 380 calories less than he stated.
She told him: “People aren’t eating them because they’re good for you. People are eating them because they’re good for animals.”
