The Supreme Court on Thursday said the country was going through a difficult period due to violent protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and requested all concerned to desist from aggravating the situation. "We are not saying who is responsible, police or students. We are saying rioting must stop," CJI SA Bobde-led bench said.
