The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, which was founded to help prepare the world for emerging outbreaks, has awarded funding to Inovio and Moderna for early-stage vaccine work. The money will help Moderna manufacture mRNA-based vaccines, and it'll help Inovio pay for development through phase 1.
