EastEnders fans heartbroken as Mick breaks down in tears and blames himself for Linda’s drinking
EASTENDERS viewers are in tears after watching Mick Carter break down over wife Linda’s alcoholism.
The Queen Vic pub landlord – who is played by actor Danny Dyer in the BBC soap – realised he couldn’t cope with all the pressure on him in last night’s episode.
Blaming himself for Linda’s spiralling drinking, he sobbed to mum Shirley about not knowing what to do.
After a furious bust-up with Linda where she blamed him for her boozing, he got some emotional support from his mum.
He told her: “I’ll tell you what the problem is – the problem is me, mum, because I can’t fix it and I know as soon as she wakes up she’s going to reach for that bottle again.”
An emotional Shirley replied: “So what are you going to do? Are you going to give up? Look, you know she annoys the hell out of me, but you and her are solid!”
Mick replied in tears: “I can’t look after this pub, I can’t look after Ollie. I just can’t do it.”
The emotional scenes left viewers in tears.
One wrote: “This broke my heart. Mick’s character gets a lot of unnecessary hate for the way he’s handling Linda’s alcoholism but he’s trying his best.
