Is this Britain’s most desperate man? Lad pays £425 for a billboard advertising HIMSELF to single ladies to find love
A DESPERATE singleton has forked out hundreds of pounds on a giant billboard advertising for a girlfriend.
Mark Rofe was sick and tired of being left behind after watching all his mates getting hitched, so he took drastic action.
The 30-year-old claimed “dating apps weren’t working”, so he resorted to putting up a six metre wide billboard in the middle of Manchester.
Mark, who works in marketing, forked out £425 for the ad, which says: “Single? Date Mark.
“This could be the sign you’ve been waiting for.”
He also set up a website, datingmark.co.uk, for applications, but says women are free to ‘slide into his DMs’ on Twitter.
And after previously “struggling to get a date”, it seems the billboard is working as he’s already received some interest.
Mark said: “I’ve been single for a little while now, and many of my friends are married or in long term relationships.
“I’ve tried the dating apps, but they just weren’t working for me, so I decided to try something a little bit different to try and stand out.”
Mark, who’s 6ft tall, describes himself as “extremely handsome and modest”, and boasts he’s kissed more than three women.
He assured that the campaign was legitimate, and has even set up a Crowdfunding site to buy more billboards around the UK, with plans to place them in Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Sheffield, Portsmouth, Bristol, and London.
Mark, whose ideal woman Maya Jama, said: “I’m not optimistic with my chances, so also set up a fund raiser to buy more billboard advertising across the UK.
“If at first you don’t succeed, buy more billboards?”
