[Swimming] ISLAS CLAIMS SWIMMER OF THE YEAR AT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Fremont, Neb. – The Olivet swim program found massive success at their conference championship meet. Combining both men's and women's performances, the team saw 27 new personal bests, seven new B cuts, and nine new A cuts. 40 conference champions were named on the weekend with 16 coming from Olivet. This dominant showing gave the men's team a second-place finish, and the women were able to place first and claim the conference title. With this, Coach Kelly Essler won KCAC coach of the year for the women, and Karla Islas (JR/Mexico City, Mexico) won Women's KCAC Swimmer of the Year.
