Girl, 15, arrested for ‘murder plot’ after boy, 15, stabbed to death by ‘teens on bicycles’
A GIRL has been arrested on suspicion of plotting to murder a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed to death by ‘teens on bicycles’.
The girl, 15, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder today following the death of Babacar Diagne in Coventry last week.
It is understood that Babacar was attacked by three black men who arrived at the murder scene on bicycles.
The reason behind the attack is still unclear as homicide detectives consider a number of possible motives to trace the killers.
Two 15-year-old boys, who were arrested earlier this week, remain in custody after officers were granted extra time to question them on suspicion of murder.
Babacar was found lying on the grass off Petitor Crescent, Wood End, at around 7pm on Wednesday after he was stabbed.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Griffiths said: “We’ve made fantastic progress on the case but my team will continue to work around the clock until we are satisfied we have caught everyone involved in this awful attack.
“Although we’ve already made ten arrests to date, I am still urging anyone who suspects they know who was involved, or saw anything suspicious near Petitor Crescent on Wednesday night, to please get in touch.

“The people responsible do not deserve protection. They have killed a child and we all collectively need to make a stand to show this is not acceptable.”
Cops are urging anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving through the Petitor Crescent area between 6-8pm on Wednesday to call 101 or message West Midlands Police via their website.
Information can also be passed anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
