Sir Rod Stewart to perform at Brit Awards 2020 and will close the show with ‘medley of biggest hits’
SIR Rod Stewart is the bombshell surprise superstar who will close this year’s Brit Awards, The Sun can reveal.
The legendary rocker, 75, who last year celebrated his 50th in the music industry, will be one of the many A-list acts to perform at the event — which is honouring its 40th ceremony since launching in 1977.
The show-stopping line-up already includes Grammy Award-winning singer, Billie Eilish, 18, Harry Styles, 26, US star, Lizzo, 31, and Brit man-of-the-moment Lewis Capaldi, 23.
Details of the Scottish singer’s set are being kept under wraps but it’s expected he will smash though some of his biggest hits to mark his 50th year in the business at the ceremony — which takes place at London’s O2 Arena next week.
The rocker confirmed: “Happy to be asked to close out the Brits on their 40th show celebrations.”
The Maggie May singer has sold over 250 million albums worldwide during an acclaimed career which includes ten number 1 albums, 26 Top 10 UK singles, 17 top 10 albums, and 16 top 10 singles in the U.S.
