Paul Pogba ‘desperate to return for Man Utd and could feature against City’ as he posts video of himself training

PAUL POGBA is reportedly desperate to make his comeback as he wants to play a key role in the remainder of Manchester United’s season.

The French midfielder could return for the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on March 8 after stepping up his recovery from an ankle injury.

Pogba has been out of action for United since his brief Boxing Day appearance against Newcastle.

But the 26-year-old proved he is on the road to recovery as he shared a short clip of himself working out on Instagram.

It shows Pogba completing various exercises with a medicine ball before doing some basic running drills in the gym.

The Daily Mail claim the French World Cup winner is hopeful of starting outdoor training at Carrington within two weeks.

If the final stages of his recovery go to plan, he could be in contention to make the team for the clash against Pep Guardiola’s side next month.

Pogba has made just seven appearances in the Premier League this season – racking up just two assists and no goals.

But the France international is determined to make his mark on the squad before the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

Pogba is reportedly fully focused on returning to full fitness despite speculation surrounding his future with United.

It has been reported that the Juventus and Real Madrid target is planning to leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at the end of the season.

United are said to have slashed £30million off his asking price and will let the man they signed for £89m in August 2016 for £150m.

Solskjaer received another injury boost this week with the news that Scott McTominay is set to start full training with the first team.
