Former French politician Patrick Balkany is released on health grounds after being jailed for fraud

The Paris appeals court have released Patrick Balkany, the former mayor of the Paris suburb of Levallois-Perret, on health grounds.

Footage from Wednesday (February 12) shows journalists run after a car transporting Balkany away from La Sant'e Prison in Paris.

Balkany has been detained since September 13 following a conviction for financial fraud.
