Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘are on bankers’ wish list for starring role at World Economic Forum in Davos’

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are on bankers’ wish list for a starring role at World Economic Forum in Davos, it has been claimed today.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already appeared for JP Morgan in Miami, Florida in their first appearance after quitting as royals and moving to Canada.

And it has since been claimed the couple are set to be invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos next year, which sees some of the richest in the world gather in Switzerland.

But the Sussex’s involvement with the WEF summit could be at odds with their climate campaigning – with the event previously slammed by teen climate activist Greta Thunberg and besieged by protests.

A banking source today told The Mirror: “Harry and Meghan have set a clear path to work with banks and corporate giants as well as doing altruistic work with charities.

“The mix works well with the target audience and the celebrity set. However, it is sure to raise eyebrows in royal circles.

“It has echoes of other royals criticised for touting themselves to the highest bidder and all becomes rather tawdry.”

This year, Harry’s father Prince Charles met with Greta during the summit in Switzerland as she demanded more to be done.

She told the annual meeting: “We are not telling you to ‘offset your emissions’ by just paying someone else to plant trees in places like Africa while at the same time forests like the Amazon are being slaughtered at an infinitely higher rate.

“Planting trees is good, of course, but it’s nowhere near enough of what needs to be done, and it cannot replace real mitigation or rewilding nature.”

Harry and Meghan had previously come under fire for taking four private jets in just 11 days last year.

After his appearance in Florida, Harry, 35, is reportedly now in talks with banking giant Goldman Sachs to become a guest speaker on its YouTube series.

And the appearances could see the couple rake in the cash after they quit the Royal Family to become “financially independent”.

SUSSEX ROYAL NO MORE?

And the couple reportedly left their secluded mansion in Vancouver to fly to the swanky event in Florida on JP Morgan’s Gulfstream jet earlier this year.

It comes amid revelations Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have to give up using the Sussex Royal brand.

After spending tens of thousands of pounds on a new Sussex Royal website and trademarks, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have lost their fight to keep the lucrative Royal brand.

A royal source said overnight: “As The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are stepping back as senior Members of the Royal Family and will work towards financial independence, use of the word ‘Royal’, in this context, needed to be reviewed.

“Discussions are still ongoing.”

It comes amid a turbulent few weeks for the royals, including two divorces.

The Earl of Snowdon announced he and his wife are set to split this week, six days after the Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips announced his divorce from wife Autumn.
