Man killed by wearing headphones and charging smartphone at the same time
A MAN was found dead in his bedroom after a suspected electric shock from using headphones connected to his charging mobile phone.
The body of Supakhet Saraboon, 35, was discovered sprawled across his bed in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, central Thailand, on Monday night.
He was found with headphones plugged in his ears, attached to a smartphone that was plugged into an extension cable connected to the mains.
Mr Saraboon, is believed to have returned home from football training before the tragic incident.
His close neighbour, Surawut Sukpanya, 36, made the grim discovery after he had not answered any of his texts.
He explained: ”We had not heard from him for more than three days, which was unusual.
“His ex-girlfriend then texted me to visit him, so I went to his house and found no one.
“Another neighbour and I decided to break into his house, then we found him dead.”

Mr Sukpanya said his friend loved sports and would usually play football with a local team every evening.
After finding Mr Saraboon’s body, he contacted the emergency services who arrived and checked the scene before carrying his body away.
Rescue workers suspect Mr Sarabeen was electrocuted from listening on headphones that connected to his charging smartphone.
They later sent his body to the hospital for a post-mortem examination before confirming the cause of his death.
Police Colonel Surapong Thammapitak, the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya police chief, confirmed that the victim was found dead.
He said: “There are no suspects involved with the death, so we believe it is an accident caused by the phone.
“People need to be careful when they are using headphones and charging their phone at the same time.”
Mr Saraboon’s death comes after previous similar fatalities in the country.
In November last year, 40-year-old Somchai Singkhorn, was found dead with burn marks on his arm and neck.
He was thought to have been electrocuted by his phone, which was also plugged in and charging.

The unnamed victim was alone at his apartment waiting on a visit from a relative in Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima province.
The family member arrived to find the man motionless in bed clutching his device, which was still connected to the wall socket.
