Ex-BuCor officer gunned down in Muntinlupa

A former official of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) was shot dead in Muntinlupa City on Wednesday afternoon.

Initial information from authorities said that former BuCor legal division chief Fredric Santos was died in front Southernside Montessori School, Katihan St., Variety Store, Barangay Poblacion at about 1:15 p.m.

Police said that Santos was about to pick up his daughter when two unidentified men appeared and shot Santos at pointblank range.

Santos sustained gunshot wounds in the head and was declared dead by the Muntinlupa Rescue Team.

Investigation is ongoing as of posting time.

Santos was involved in the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) controversy last year that prompted a Senate investigation.
