Steph Curry practices, has re-evaluation bumped up
The superstar will now be re-evaluated on February 28.
There hasn’t been a lot of good news on the Golden State Warriors front this season, but Tuesday offered a little bit. As the team returned to practice after the All-Star break - and prepared for an exciting showdown with the Houston Rockets on Thursday - they did so bearing good news.
Steph Curry is back at practice. We’ve seen videos of him shooting, warming up, and practicing on his own, but now he’s nearly fully practicing with the team.
That comes with a caveat: Curry isn’t engaging in contract drills yet, which means that he’s not scrimmaging. That will remain the case for the rest of the week.
Curry participated in all non-contact parts of practice, but he won’t scrimmage this week, per Kerr.

Steph Curry was in a red jersey for practice today. It meant: Don’t touch. Steve Kerr: “We were calling him Tom Brady.” Curry took part in all non-contact parts of practice. Won’t scrimmage this week. Full update here. pic.twitter.com/C8L5ObMBuJ

Perhaps most encouraging is the news that Curry is having his re-evaluation bumped up by two days. The two-time MVP was initially scheduled to have his fractured hand re-evaluated on Sunday, March 1; now he’ll have it re-evaluated on Friday, February 28.
Upon further review: The next Curry update has been moved up two days to Feb. 28. Initially was March 1. https://t.co/LcdOQwp5yV

It’s probably a good idea to not read too far into that, but it’s safe to say that it’s never a bad thing when re-evaluations are moved up.
For what it’s worth, the Warriors play on both February 29 (at the Phoenix Suns), and March 1 (home vs. the Washington Wizards). It seems unlikely that Curry will be back for that Wizards game, but nothing is impossible.
More realistically, the Warriors begin a four-game homestand on March 5 that runs through March 12. It’s looking increasingly possible that Curry could return during that time.
