The men's indoor track and field program at Shawnee State put together a solid performance on the opening day of the Mid-South Conference's Indoor Track and Field Championships, as Steven Adams was able to win the 5,000-meter run.
Tim Secoy finished fourth in the 3,000-meter walk, Thryceton Deckard added in a fifth in the 600 meter run, and Aiden Kammler and Chris Parsons posted fourth and fifth place showings in the 5,000-meter run on Day 1 of the two-day Mid-South Conference Championships on Friday at the George M. Smart Center at Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio.
Shawnee State, who scored 32 points as a unit behind the efforts of the trio, finished just three points back of fifth-place Campbellsville (35 points) while besting Georgetown (20 points) and Pikeville (one point). Cumberlands (Ky.) currently leads the men's standings with 71 points to their credit.
