[Women's Basketball] Indiana Tech Three-Peats as Women's Basketball Championships
The Indiana Tech women's basketball captured their third Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) championship in as many years as the Warriors dropped just one conference game to finish the 2019-20 campaign at 19-1 in league play. The lone loss came in the form of a four-point loss to Siena Heights on Dec. 7. Currently, Tech is riding a 15-game winning streak dating back to Dec. 31 when the Warriors lost a non-conference game by one point to St. Francis (Ind.). Indiana Tech averaged 80.68 points per game during the year and held a 24-point scoring margin.
Siena Heights finished second with a WHAC record of 17-3. SHU lost the second match up to Indiana Tech along with back-to-back losses to UNOH and UM-Dearborn in the opening weeks of February. Lawrence Tech followed in third place with a 13-7 league record.
With the conference championship comes the first seed designation for the Warriors in the WHAC Tournament starting Feb. 27 on campus sites and also receives the league's first automatic berth to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa.
