Stacey Solomon celebrates baby Rex’s first pancake day as she leads celebs showing off their flipping skills
STACEY Solomon shared her baby son Rex’s first Pancake Day today as she lead the celebs sharing their Shrove Tuesdays with fans on social media.
The mum-of-three showed fans the ingredients for her yummy pancakes and paired her breakfast with oranges, banana slices, blueberries, strawberries, Nutella and maple syrup.
The 30-year-old then showed her fans her ability to flip a pancake, getting a good height on it as it landed perfectly back in the pan on its opposite side.
Rex happily tucked into the pancakes as Stacey captured their breakfast on camera.
She said she was spending “special time” with her partner Joe Swash after weeks apart as he films Dancing On Ice.
“Happy first pancake day pickle we love you to the moon and back,” she commented.
Meanwhile, Amanda Holden and Ashley Roberts were just some of the other celebs getting in the spirit of Shrove Tuesday as they practised the art of successfully flipping a pancake.
Shrove Tuesday marks the annual day when celebrators indulge in the sweet treat of pancakes before the 40 days of Lent.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge and Pussycat Doll member went head to head in a pancake flipping race live on Heart Breakfast outside Heart’s Leicester Square studios this morning.
The duo put on a hilarious display as they attempted to show off their skills while both running and successfully tossing a pancake.
Sporting red, white and blue headbands, the race proved to be most difficult for Amanda as she dropped her pancake on the ground just before reaching the finish line.
Model Kelly Brook also got in on the act, as she made a delicious-looking American style Buttermilk pancake, complete with banana pieces on top.
She posted a picture on Instagram of her gleefully holding the frying pan with the pancake inside and captioned the snap: “Treat Yourself and Have a Flippin Amazing Day Making Pancakes for the Team.”
This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby along with chef Ainsley Harriot, attempted to break the world record for the highest ever pancake flip.
Taking place live outside the studio, Ainsley, 62, tried his best to flip the pancake at least 31 feet and two inches high to break the record and then catch the pancake in the pan again, but was unsuccessful.
Phillip, 62 and Holly, 38, both tried their luck at breaking the record, but also failed to reach the mark.
Holly also stated that it was an unofficial world record attempt, as Guinness World Records failed to turn up as they admitted “it wasn’t worth their time.”

McFly band member Tom Fletcher posted a snap to Instagram of his best attempt to flip a pancake.
The 34-year-old’s eyes were widened as he focused intently on flipping the pancake successfully and captioned the pic: “Tosser #pancakes#pancakeday.”
