Several years ago, I became fascinated by the idea of using the "title match" format for a soccer trophy. Basically, a "title match" format is the format that they typically use in boxing. If you beat the current champion, you become the new champion. In that fascination, I started tracking this in a spreadsheet, and made occasional posts here with updates:
