[Women's Basketball] Wroblewski named CCAC Player of the Week
CHICAGO --- Two big games in both the scoring and rebounding columns to close out the regular season have earned St. Ambrose University's Kylie Wroblewski (Bettendorf, Iowa) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week recognition, it was announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
Wroblewski authored two double-doubles during the seven-day period from Feb. 17-23, which now gives her eight such games for the season. Those efforts produced scoring and rebounding averages of 26.0 and 14.0, respectively, not to mention a .545 shooting mark from the field (18-of-33) and an .882 accuracy reading from the foul line (15-of-17).
Wroblewski began the week with 23 points and 13 rebounds in a 79-59 decision over Roosevelt University last Wednesday. The 6-2 freshman forward then matched her career highs with 29 points and 15 rebounds in a 71-59 victory versus Governors State on Saturday. It also extended her string of double-figure scoring contests to 19.
St. Ambrose's 2-0 week enabled the Fighting Bees to finish the regular season at 16-13 overall and with the No. 5 seed in the upcoming CCAC Tournament.
