Stocks end mostly lower as attempted rebound loses steam
U.S. stocks closed mostly lower on Wednesday, as fears about the spread of the coronavirus epidemic weighed on investor sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost about 121 points, or 0.4%, closing near 26,960, while the S&P 500 fell about 12 points or 0.4% to finish trading near 3,117. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed near 8,981, up 15 points or 0.2%. Shares of Wendy's Company slid nearly 5% after the fast-food chain provided downbeat guidance to analysts.
