Love Island’s Laura Anderson gets tattoo tribute to Caroline Flack after her death
LOVE Island star Laura Anderson has been praised for a new tattoo paying tribute to late TV presenter Caroline Flack.
Taking to Instagram to show off her new inking, which features a blue butterfly and the words be kind, Laura shared: “It’s not until now this has become ‘fashionable’.
“All I’ve ever wanted is to be kind. This is for you Caroline and the rest of the human race #bekind.”
Scottish star Laura had previously paid tribute to Caroline, 40, calling her a “beautiful” and “talented” woman and said she was “loved by so many”.
As news of Caroline’s passing spread, Laura wrote: “What a cruel world we live in.
“So much I want to say in anger & frustration however the priority lies with respecting Caroline’s family at this time.”
She added: “The fact that we’re all sat here tonight with such devastating news all too close to home is just too much and too soon. Caroline will always be a beautiful, funny, talented and unique woman with a lot of passion and heart for all that she did.
“I can’t believe you’re no longer here. You were and always will be loved by so many and I’m so sorry this life didn’t give you the support that you needed.”
Caroline was found dead at her London flat after taking her own life on 15 February.
The former Love Island host was due in court next month on charges of assaulting her boyfriend.
A statement from Caroline’s family read: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.”
Her boyfriend Lewis Burton had declared his love for Caroline on Instagram as they spent Valentine’s Day apart as part of a court order.
He posted a sweet snap of the pair of them with the caption: “Happy valentines [red love heart] Love you [kissing emoji]”.
Model Lewis, 27 denied the prosecution – with defiant Caroline determined to prove her innocence after denying assault by beating.
Those close to Caroline are said to be furious that the CPS had continued to prosecute Caroline despite Lewis making clear he did not want them to and there being no serious injury.
They are angry that the CPS had refused to listen to warnings that Caroline was vulnerable.
ITV released a statement: “Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news.
“Caroline was a much loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends.”
