EastEnders heartbreak as Sharon attempts suicide, Daniel dies and Callum is finally found
EASTENDERS viewers were left in pieces after tonight’s devastatingly emotional trip to Albert Square.
The powerful episode saw Sharon Watts saved from a suicide attempt, Daniel dying after Jean Slater got the cancer all-clear and Callum Highway finally found on the brink of death.
New mum Sharon, grieving from the loss of her son Dennis, decided to end her own life tonight out of desperation – but stopped herself at the last minute.
She left her newborn son with his grandmother Karen before writing a note surrounded by pictures of Dennis and preparing herself.
However at the last moment Sharon tore up the letter as her friend Ian Beale – the man responsible for Dennis’ death – realised something was wrong and raced to save her.
Ian raced over but he was just in time to stop her from doing anything and instead found her ripping up the note she had left him.
Scattered over the table were pictures of Dennis and as Ian ran in Sharon sobbed: “I couldn’t do it, I wanted to so badly but I couldn’t do it.”
Meanwhile in the Square Daniel passed away peacefully in the middle of the gardens after asking Jean to get him a drink from the coffee stall in the park.
He had promised to not die before Jean got the all-clear from her own cancer battle and today was that day.
But after Jean resolved not to tell him in the hopes of keeping him alive longer, Mo let it out of the bag.
And when Jean returned, she spotted him on the bench lifeless.
Sitting down next to him she said goodbye by telling him: “I’m going to tell you a secret, you really are the love of my life.
“I promise you I am going to live my life being more Miss Feisty, more Jean.”
There was some good news as Ben Mitchell finally found his missing boyfriend Callum after he was injured trying to escape from Keanu Taylor’s kidnap.

Ben seemingly managed to hear Callum’s plea for help despite being deaf and found him, moments from death.
The heavy-hitting emotional episode left fans in bits and they overwhelmed with tears.
