Brit award winner Dave teaming with Love Island’s Wes Nelson to help launch his music career
DAVE has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including Drake, Ed Sheeran and AJ Tracey, but I never imagined he’d team up with a reality star.
Wes Nelson has claimed he has been in the studio with the breakthrough grime rapper, as the former Love Islander attempts to launch his own music career.
Dave had one of the most critically acclaimed albums of last year with Psychodrama and won the Album Of The Year gong at the Brit awards last week.
But Wes, who appeared on The X Factor: Celebrity last year, is hoping to follow in the rapper’s footsteps and revealed he is working on a record of his own.
He said: “I’ve been in the studio with Dave, he’s been great.
“A lot of the people I’ve been working with are really important. I’m in talks with big producers and labels.”
Wes said Dave has acted as a mentor to him, along with Brummie hip-hop duo Loot Boyz, who have been helping on his “chilled R&B and pop” tunes.
The former engineer shared that his passion has always been music and that he cannot wait for his career to take off.
He said: “There is some very exciting stuff coming up for me but music is the main focus.
“Everyone at the studio loves the songs I’ve produced so far and it’s almost time for things to come out.”

He is so committed that girlfriend Arabella Chi revealed he had been working in the studio until 4am.
But there is one downside, as she added: “I’ve been having to go to bed on my own.”
Shame on you, Wes.
Kendall fine in Kleins
KENDALL JENNER has proven fashionistas around the world wrong and shown that double denim does work.
The reality-star-turned-model unveiled this look as part of Calvin Klein’s spring 2020 collection.
And despite a promising catwalk career and the chance to model gear like this, Kendall admitted she has her eye on a new job.
She said: “If I had to be a personal assistant for a year, I’d pick Beyonce – just because I want to know what she eats in the morning.
“I just want to know what she has for breakfast. I just really need to know what TV shows she watches.
“Like, ‘Do you watch Bachelor In Paradise? Because if so, we should be best friends’.”
Judging by this photo – and the more revealing one below – Beyonce would probably be keen to find out Kendall’s diet secrets too.
Stanley and Toff’s second jungle date
GEORGIA TOFFOLO’s unlikely friendship with PM Boris Johnson’s dad Stanley is going to raise some eyebrows if they keep on like they are at the moment.
The pals met on I’m A Celebrity in 2017 but will soon be heading back into the jungle.
Former Made In Chelsea star Georgia, 25, has revealed she has arranged a couples trip to Uganda with Stanley, 54 years her senior.
In an exclusive chat, she said: “Stanley and I have just booked to go in six weeks to see the mountain gorillas, as a holiday for just the two of us.
“We’d love to do something on telly together. We have a similar sense of humour, and I look up to him.
“He is very interesting – and he has the most wonderful family.”
And the veteran wildlife campaigner could point her in the right direction for her next job.
Speaking ahead of the launch of her Shein clothing range next Friday, she said: “People say I should run to be an MP.
“As a young woman I look in the Commons and think we are underrepresented and voting is falling every year.
“There is a big opening for a younger woman who is politically active. Perhaps young people would engage more.”

Rod’s knee op penalty
ROD STEWART has been banned by doctors from kicking signed footballs into the crowd at his gigs following a knee op.
In an exclusive chat, his wife Penny Lancaster said: “He’s stopped kicking the balls for a while because basically there’s no cartilage left.
So he couldn’t do that. But he’s had the full knee replacement and they’ve said his knee is stronger than ever.
“He’s kind of running sideways doing some football training already. So it’ll come back to full strength.”
Penny was speaking at the one-year anniversary gala performance of Only Fools And Horses The Musical at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket, starring Paul Whitehouse, Tom Bennett and Ryan Hutton.

- Migos rapper Offset is breaking into acting, five months after wife Cardi B featured in hit movie Hustlers. He will make his on-screen debut in the 11th series of NCIS: Los Angeles playing an investigator.
- Dua Lipa, Bear Grylls, Dr Dre, Andrew Scott, Tinie Tempah and Scooter Braun will all descend on Soho Farmhouse, Oxon, in May to speak at the GQ Heroes conference. Gareth Southgate will also be there.
- Harry Styles regrets not taking more risks on his self-titled debut album. He said: “When I listen back now, although I still love it so much, I feel like I was almost bowling with the bumpers up a bit. I can hear places where I was playing it safe.”
The Joy of Tex is back
I COULDN’T be more excited about Texas’s comeback.
Sharleen Spiteri, Johnny McElhone and co will return later this year with their as-yet untitled tenth album and a 24-date UK tour.
Starting in Belfast on October 6, Texas will play gigs in London, Sheffield, Birmingham and Glasgow among others, ending the run in Margate on November 8.
Sharleen and Johnny confirmed they will play a mix of classic and new tracks, with tickets going on sale on March 6.
