Gemma Collins teases leap year proposal to James Argent as she tells fans to ‘make it count’
GEMMA Collins has left fans wondering if she’s planning to propose to James Argent this Leap Year as she told them to make it count.
The 39-year-old star, who has been on and off with Arg for years, has been hankering after a big yellow diamond engagement ring.
And she teased that she’s taken matters into her own hands as she shared a video clip of herself from her hotel room in Dubai this morning.
“Did someone say… leap year?” she said.
“This day doesn’t come for another four years so let’s make it count.”
And fans rushed to comment their suspicions that she got down on one knee with one asking: “Did you propose?”
Another commented: “Who are you asking?”
According to tradition, women wanting to propose can do so on February 29 – which occurs every four years.
Last month, Gemma sparked rumours she had already got engaged after teasing fans with a picture of herself in a wedding dress.
She looked incredible as she posed in a veil and asked her followers to guess where she had been.
She wrote: “Can you all guess where I have been this week – every girl’s dream!”
Gemma purchased a £1,650 long sleeved dress from Bellissima Weddings in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex.
However a source shut down wedding bell rumours, telling the Mail: “Gemma isn’t engaged – she’s still with James but he hasn’t proposed.
“She was at the store with some of her team trying on dresses and having professional photographs taken.
“Naturally Gemma loved every moment and had such a fun time getting wedding ready.
“It’s thought that Gemma’s visit will feature on the second series of her reality show Diva Forever but she’s keen to keep details under wraps for now.”
Gemma has previously revealed what sort of wedding she wants – and it doesn’t look like it will be happening any time soon or not at least until she gets a big ring.
She said: “I’d like a big wedding. I want to get married at The Dorchester hotel in London, then fly to Sicily for the honeymoon – but he’s got to buy the big yellow rock first.
“Until I get a big £250k or half-a-million yellow diamond, I ain’t settling with anybody!”
Gemma has had a difficult time with boyfriend James Argent – who is currently in rehab – over the last year.
The former Dancing On Ice star was left devastated after her troubled beau was rushed to hospital for the second time in two months in December.
A source said at the time: “Gemma is worried sick about Arg, when she’s not with him at his home she is ringing him 24/7 to check that he is OK.
