Lindsie Chrisley Defends Estranged Father Todd Chrisley after COVID-19 Battle
It was revealed that Chrisley Knows Bests star, Todd Chrisley was diagnosed with COVID-19 and after online trolls had thrown insults at him online, Todd's estranged daughter Lindsie Chrisley came to his defense. There were people who were dismissing and downplaying Todd's 3-week-long battle with the coronavirus that led him to be hospitalized, but his daughter Lindsie stood up for him.
It was a rough few months for the Chrisley family, in September of 2019, Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley were indicted on 12-counts of fraud, which included wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. It was then revealed that Lindsie had gone to the police on June 16th to file a report that her father and brother, Chase Chrisley, with claims that they purchased a sex tape of her and threatened to release it unless she lied for them. After accusing them of this, her father hit back with accusations that he tried to hide his estranged daughter's many extramarital affairs to certain The Bachelorette alumni. The accusations caused the family to split apart further.
Since last year's tax and sex tape scandal has died down, it came as a shock when it was revealed that Todd Chrisley had been diagnosed with the coronavirus. Todd had been hospitalized due to complications from the virus for four days at Nashville's Vanderbilt University Medical Center. When he was back home and on the mend, Lindsie went to Instagram to defend her estranged father from the trolls. According to Daily Mail, Lindsie re-posted a follower's insulting DM with the caption, "The audacity of some people blows my mind." The 30-year-old continued,"This is disgusting. My inbox is flooding with similar messages and I'm not here for it. Get right or get off my page. Don't make me post your handles. Let's make you "legendary."'
Even though the relationship between Todd and his daughter Lindsie has been sprinkled with allegations and slander on both sides, this didn't stop Lindsie from defending her father's battle with COVID-19. That same day, Todd had gone to social media to update his fans on the status of his health. He said that he was "75% better," but said that the virus made him "the sickest I have ever been in the 52 years I've been on this Earth." Todd had reportedly endured a "fever between 100 to 103 [degrees]." He called the sickness "life-altering" for everyone, including his family.
It was a long road to recovery for Todd. There is no denying that what he experienced was not only real but terrifying, he is on the mend and doing better. Even though he and his daughter's relationship hasn't been the greatest, this traumatic experience might be able to bring them together finally.
