Former PL Golden Boot winner urges Troy Parrott to leave Spurs in the summer

Former Sunderland striker, Kevin Phillips, has urged Troy Parrott to leave Tottenham on loan next season in order to prove himself.

Parrott is one of the most highly-rated talents to graduate from the Spurs academy in recent years, with the teenager having a prolific goal record for the youth sides.

The Irishman was handed his Premier League debut by Jose Mourinho in the 5-0 win against Burnley in December but has found chances few and far between ever since.

In fact, despite the injuries to Harry Kane and Son Heung-min this season, which left Spurs without a recognised striker in the squad, Parrot was still largely overlooked by Mourinho.
