Vanderpump Rules: 5 Times Stassi Was A Total Villain (& 5 Times She Was the Hero)
The show Vanderpump Rules has a cast full of interesting and memorable characters, but if there was one breakout star from the series, it’s Stassi Schroeder. Other than Lisa Vanderpump, who plays a more minor role in this series, Stassi is the most recognizable figure from the series. While Stassi might be the star, this doesn’t mean she’s an innocent future. Her reality television fame comes from the fact that she can be charming at times but also rather horrible at others.
Here are her five move villainous moments from the series as well as her five best.
10 Villain: The way she treated Scheana in the first season
The very first season of Vanderpump Rules introduced Scheana as the new girl at Sur who the other women didn’t like. While Schena also has her flaws and can be annoying, the way that Stassi treated her wasn’t cool.
It was clear that Stassi didn’t want anyone to threaten her status as the main woman in the group, and she was overly jealous and mean to Scheana because of this. These two have really never been friends, and Stassi has never been very kind to her.
9 Hero: Breaking up with Jax
It was clear from the beginnings that Stassi and Jax had a horrible relationship and that they both were toxic to one another. While Stassi could be overly mean and cruel, Jax was rather manipulative and cheated on her.
When Stassi broke up with him, it was definitely the right thing to do for her because she didn’t deserve that. This was a good move on her part, and it showed that she could leave situations that were bad for her.
8 Villain: Acting like a total monster about her birthday
One of the most memorable things about Stassi is that she makes a huge deal out of her birthday. While sometimes this can be rather entertaining, she can act rather awful when things on her birthday don’t go her way.
While throwing huge parties or vacations to celebrate her birthday can be fun, she often ends up having breakdowns and lashing out at the people around her. She has been really awful to her closest friends, like Katie, and to boyfriends, like Beau because she got upset on her birthday.
7 Hero: Her hilarious one-liners
Stassi might not be one of the many cast members from Vanderpump Rules who has tried to be a comedian, but she is one of the funniest. Her talking head moments are often some of the most hilarious as she has a quick wit and can be rather clever.
While sometimes her threats are over the top, the way she strings words together, and even insults people, is memorable. It’s no wonder many fans were entertained by her as she is rather hard to forget.
6 Villain: When she slapped Kristen
In season 2, it’s revealed that Kristen and Jax slept together while Kristen was with Sandoval and while Jax was working things out with Stassi. While Stassi understandably felt betrayed by one of her closest friends, the way she lashed out with physical violence isn't acceptable.
She slapped Kristen really hard and rather violently, and it was one of her worst moments on the series. While Stassi might have tried to fix her image since fans will never forget this scene.
5 Hero: Calling Tom Sandoval out for being the worst about TomTom
In earlier seasons, Stassi could be a lot more mean and cutting, but in recent seasons, she’s clearly focused a lot of energy on trying to be more mature.
While she doesn't always achieve this, there are times when she calls people out in a way that’s rather heroic because they need to be called out. When Stassi was hosting an event for her book at TomTom, Sandoval lashed out at her in a really unprofessional and uncool way. Stassi was right to call him out for this even if she also took things too far.
4 Villain: Leaving the show and acting like she was better than the other cast members
At the end of season three, Stassi left the show to move to New York City with then-boyfriend, Patrick. She definitely had an attitude that she was better than the other cast members and too good for the show.
She burned a lot of bridges even with people who tried to help her. While this wasn’t a great move, Stassi ended up having to swallow her pride when she returned to the show and apologize to many people, including Lisa.
3 Hero: Addressing her own emotional issues to be a partner
During season seven of Vanderpump Rules, Stassi and Beau were figuring out their relationship. Stassi had to take a hard look at herself and her own toxic behaviors.
She was lashing out at Beau in unfair and even cruel ways, and she learned that she needed to change. This was a big moment for her as she tried to address this “dark passenger” and do some work on herself in order to be a better partner.
2 Villain: When she bullied her close friends
Stassi might be really entertaining and even endearing at times, but there’s no denying that she can also be a bully. She has bullied many people on the show including her closest friends.
There were many earlier seasons where she treated Katie really poorly even as Katie stood by her side. More recently, both Stassi and Katie have been rather cruel in how they’ve treated Kristin instead of understanding that she’s in a bad relationship that’s hard for her to leave.
1 Hero: Harnessing her fame to make a brand outside of the show
Given the popularity of the show and the fact that reality TV shows never last too long, Stassi is really smart to harness the fame she has now to secure her future. She’s turned her popularity from the show into a brand and created things like a podcast, a book, and a touring live show.
This shows that she’s definitely one of the smarter cast members when it comes to planning ahead and not just relying on the series to stick around forever.
