Love Is Blind: Mark Cuevas Says 'Phone Line's Always Open' For Jessica Batten
Mark Cuevas being a good guy has been a consistent theme of his Love is Blind experience. The Chicago native won over viewers' hearts with the compassion, sincerity and honesty that he showed when dealing with his former fiancėe Jessica Batten. Jessica and Mark seemed like a couple headed for doom from their initial start.
Mark was clearly smitten with Jessica from the first moment that they spoke, but she showed more reservations, especially when he revealed that he was only 24. She was 33 at the time and saw the age gap as a potential problem. It also didn’t help their romance that Jessica also had feelings for Matt Barnett.
The Matt, Amber Pike, Jessica and Mark love square was a major storyline during the first half of Love is Blind season 1. Matt found himself torn between Jessica, Amber and third choice LC Chamblin. Eventually, Matt told Jessica and LC that he wanted to be with Amber. Amber and Matt became engaged, but not before Jessica expressed some concerns over whether Matt made the right decision to be with Amber.
Screen Rant spoke to Mark to get his insight into everything that happened during and after his time on Love is Blind. He previously told us that he was “kind of shocked” to see the Matt and Jessica birthday conversation scene on the show. However, he also added that “at the end of the day, does it really matter?"
Mark has had a positive attitude throughout the experience and gave us an update on whether Jessica and him still keep in touch:
"She's doing her thing. I think, after the reunion, we kept in touch for a little while. But she's super, super busy with her job. Me, I'm figuring out my thing and what I'm trying to do. But if she ever needs anything, my phone line's always open. I'm never gonna ignore her call. She was telling me the same thing, that if I ever needed anything, she would reach out to me. So, yeah, whatever vice versa. She'd reach out to me or I'd reach out to her, and she'd answer.
We're cool. We're at that place where we're not super close, but at the end of the day you go through something with someone together that, it's hard to not keep in touch."
Once again, Mark proves that he is a good guy by still keeping a place in his heart for Jessica as a friend. It’s nice to see that these exes haven’t gone over to the messy side of breakups and reality TV.
