Too Hot To Handle: Everything to Know About Rhonda Paul From Netflix's Reality Show
Officially, the goal of Netflix's reality series Too Hot to Handle is to promote deep, romantic connections. In all honesty, it's pretty much an opportunity to watch people accustomed to hookup culture struggle with the temptation to hook up. Even with a $100K prize on the line, there were plenty of cast members who broke the no hook up rules just to get a kiss in. On the other extreme of things, there were contestants who brought zero to the show because they abided by the restrictions and none of their commentary even made the cut. Overall, almost everyone was inhibited by the hookup ban and just focused on the possibility to win money.
However, it seems like contestant Rhonda Paul really did get a lot out of the experience. During the first episode, she said she considered herself a 10 out of 10 and explained that she tries to look her best at all times. She claimed, "I’m not just going in flip-flops and jeans. I’m looking my best because you never know who you’re gonna bump into." While she started out the season bragging about her appearance, without giving too much away, she really did achieve that Lana-touted personal growth. Not only that, but she definitely stands out from a majority of her co-stars when it comes to her activity outside the show. She's definitely more of a mystery, especially when it comes to social media. So, let's get to know Rhonda a little bit better.
Rhonda didn't mention that she was a mother until the second-to-last episode of the season. She said that she had a son and that she wouldn't introduce him to a man unless the relationship was serious. During the episode, Rhonda introduced Sharron Townsend to her son via FaceTime.
According to her LinkedIn page, Rhonda is from Lithia Springs, Georgia. In 2014, graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology.
Rhonda's LinkedIn page includes a lot of restaurant experience. The page indicates that she has managed a restaurant in Georgia since December 2014. Previously, she worked at a NASCAR restaurant.
Rhonda's Instagram bio says that she owns a jewelry company called PureLuxx, which is available for purchase online. The line includes chains, wristbands and other items.
It's not exactly surprising that someone from a reality TV dating show also models. At this point, it's more of a fun fact if a reality show contestant does not share modeling photos on Instagram. She's also worked as a ring girl at boxing matches.
In a post-show interview with Refinery29, she shared her feelings on the show's rules banning kissing and sex. She told the outlet, "My mind kind of just went blank when I heard it and I was just like, 'Okay, that's fine, I'm competitive. I got this.' Mentally trying to tell myself it's going to be okay."
And, ultimately, it was okay. They all made it through Too Hot to Handle, not completely compliant. But they all ended up growing, at least somewhat.
