Misbits Beginner’s Tips and Tricks | Screen Rant
Currently in free early access on Steam, Misbits is an action-driven multiplayer game where players play as body-less toy heads. Players are allowed to switch between toy bodies, use weird weapons and play in several battle modes.
Developed by Pow Wow Entertainment and Purple Lamp Studios, this up-and-coming game tries to give players a healthy mix of battles, mini-games, and creativity. Between the “ToyBox” system that lets players create their own maps and its several game modes, Misbits is a veritable toy box of fun almost any player can enjoy.
Even though the game starts with a basic tutorial, it is highly recommended that players begin the playhouse rather than participate in any matches. Why? Because it is the ideal place to learn at your own pace. There is no timer, the map is massive, and is filled with toys and tools alike. This means the playground is ideal for anyone who just wants to fiddle around and experiment with what the game has to offer.
Take the time to try out different toys, their special abilities and any tools they may (or may not) be able to use. But the playhouse is more than a large space to try out combat mechanics. It is also a place where players can engage in platforming, soccer matches, and even timed races. All so the player can get a feel for the game and still have some fun!
Misbits is a fast-paced game that values adaptability over anything else. As such, players who try to play the game by choosing a ‘main’ toy are bound to have a hard time. Destroying toys is easy in this game, and switching from one toy to the next is an expected part of gameplay. After all, a head without a toy is just asking to get slain. So get used to playing as different toys and utilizing their different skills on the fly.
But that doesn’t mean players can’t have their favorites. If fortune allows, players can snatch their preferred toy of choice. Ideally, this is done at the beginning of a match. But players are also able to steal toys from other players by using the head’s default special skill.
As mentioned before, destroying toys is easy. So easy that a player will find themselves toy-less several times in a single match. Players will also realize that as soon as a toy is destroyed, the opposing player will go after the head to gain a player kill. So it stands to reason that players who have their toy destroyed should leave the area as soon as possible.
Sprinting is the most common option. But using the head’s special skill is an option as well since it all but launches the head in a linear direction. This skill can be particularly effective if there is a chasm or gap that toys cannot cross. Also keep in mind that on certain maps, heads can actually travel beneath traps that would otherwise prove hazardous to anyone with a toy.
Just keep on moving until another toy is found. Or just snatch one from an unsuspecting enemy.
While some maps in Misbits a straightforward like the stadium, others are more complex. Maps like the pirate ship and the Egyptian ruin that have their own little gimmicks like canons that can shoot players across the map and turrets players can use to attack their opponents. Which is to say nothing of the traps that payers will want to learn the location of. In a game where destruction is paramount, it will be beneficial for players to use their surroundings to their advantage.
But arguably the most important thing to learn about each map is where the toy spawns are. Memorize those, and players will never find themselves wandering around as a vulnerable head for too long.
Misbits is currently only available on PC through Steam.
