Love Is Blind: Fans Touched By Amber Sharing Abortion Story, Felt Less Alone
Amber shared the story of her abortion on Love Is Blind and told Screen Rant in an interview that it helped her feel less alone. It can be an isolating time for many as we are stuck at home during coronavirus, but the fans have continued to shower Amber and Matt with messages of support.
Matt and Amber were one of two couples to wed at the end of Love Is Blind, along with fan favorites Lauren and Cameron Hamilton. Although the show filmed a year and a half before airing, they remain together to this day. During the show, all of the couples that proposed went on a romantic trip to Mexico, where Amber and Barnett first spent time together outside the pods. They are now living in an apartment in Atlanta, the city the entire cast was pulled from. During the Love Is Blind reunion, the two talked about having some bumps in the road in their marriage. During a conversation with them, their chemistry was evident over the phone. They are enjoying time with their dog, keeping occupied during self-quarantine by watching plenty of movies. Matt also likes to play Call of Duty while Amber catches up on her romance novels.
Amber said in an interview with Screen Rant of the messages of support she's received, "I've had several of the same type of messages, where there are people reaching out, saying that they really appreciated and were inspired and were touched that I shared my story about my abortion." Amber spoke about being in an unhealthy relationship and how meeting Matt came at the perfect time for her. Amber likes the fact that this experience has allowed her to help others who are going through similar struggles that she endured.
She added, "I think it is such a hard situation for people to go through and it does, in the moment, feel like you can be all alone. And I think a lot of people have seen that it's something that several people have gone through - like, many people in the world have gone through." Amber has received so many messages that she hasn't been able to respond to them all yet.
During these times, there are many couples who are in unhealthy relationships and may feel trapped. It is important that they know that there are resources to help them and provide them safety and comfort.
